That's it, I'm staying away from the dog. First my knee, now my face. I have a fat lip and a sore jaw, and his head probably isn't even bruised.

...In fairness, it wasn't his fault, he didn't mean to, and it's kind of funny. Just, y'know, ow.

Top of his head met the side of my face as we were both heading down the porch steps. I'm standing there, with his chew toy in my hand and trying not to whine like a little girl, and he's all ready to chase it as soon as I throw.

So yeah, I'm a little bitter. But I have a lovely fat lip, it's all shades of purple and red!

I've been thinking about this for a while and I'm still at a loss.

Although, if I were you, I think I would lobby for a temporary ice cream diet.

We were both heading down the back steps outside - they're big cement ones - and I leaned down at the bottom to grab a chew toy of his. The problem is that he's a very big dog, and he was lolloping down the stairs the way dogs do. So when I leaned down, his head came up, and the top of his thick skull met my face. Hence the fat lip.

And I like that idea! Ice cream is always good.

My dad's dog has head-butted me like that. He is very excitable, so when I go home he is always jumping around. Typically, when I lean down to untie my shoes he's jumping up. It's been close to a KO a couple of times.
