I can has cake! Also a west trip. Two things that, while each individually kind of awesome, don't really taste great together.

Also, having Cave Johnson's lemon rant running through my head is hilarious, it's just that I keep giggling at random times and getting strange looks.
tehluggage: (AT-AT headdesk)
Er. Anyway, gone west, so huzzah, wave the tiny flags, etc.

Been gardening, which I actually do enjoy, when it's a teeny flower garden and not the monstrosity of a vegetable garden we usually have. Need to do more, though, when I get back.

Also, ME2 on Insanity takes so damn looooong, oh my god. A relatively simple fight against a Blue Suns Captain, on the way to rescue Oriana? Something like two hours, spent loading and reloading and reloading. On the other hand, she's most definitely dead, so go Garrus and Miranda.
tehluggage: (AT-AT headdesk)
Haven't been west in a while, so that's nice. Not the train I was expecting, but one I wanted, which is even better.

And then ME2 once I get back, because Portal 2 is beaten and I am not going back to the original Aperture Science labs for a long, long time. Even if PotaDOS was down there, it's still too damn creepy.

Going north, which is still a hell of a lot better than a yard shift, and I have a good engineer, so yay!

Ugh.

Gone north, so automatic yuck, but on the other hand, much, much better than the west trip I was lined up for otherwise.

I just hope I'll find some writing time....
tehluggage: (AT-AT headdesk)
Which is to say, yay switcher because I'm the brakeman and not the boss, it looks to be a good crew, and I'll be home by five-ish!

...All the better to write the Fenris-ribbon bit that might just correspond to the stuff I wrote last night, goddamn it. The mental images, they are very hot and will not get out of my freaking head.
tehluggage: (miguel's music)
West this time, which is okay! Good train, good hoghead, and thanks to [livejournal.com profile] fangses, more plot bunnies than I know what to do with.

Seriously, the one about the Arishok fight from Rob's POV will not leave me alone. Damn you, and all that.

Anyway, here's hoping I'm back at a decent hour tomorrow. That would be lovely. Fingers are crossed for a 24 hour trip!

Ick.

North. Why did it have to be north.

Ugh, here's hoping it'll at least be a quick trip, maybe with a taxi waiting at Red Deer.

see icon for the odds of that happening...

Duct tape!

Speaking of which, Liefeld seriously needs to stop drawing. Like, now. Please. It's just getting painful.

On the other hand, the sheer amount of Ho/Foe Yay between Cable and 'Pool never ceases to amuse. And the world needs more Bob, Agent of HYDRA!

Also going north, ewwww. But I might have a trainee, yay!

Not a bad night on the 2 switcher relief, when all was said and done!

Also I have finally met Caleb Shepard, and he is a pretty pretty man. Not quite as pretty as Cairo - but then, who is - and possibly prettier than Bet.

It helps that he's all dark brown skin with lighter brown hair and really beautiful purple-grey eyes. ...Shit, I think I just lapsed into Sue-prose.

He's also not as pretty as Daniel Henney.

Mmmm, Daniel Henney...

I think it will be an interesting night on the tramp, to say the least. Probably not many customers, which is okay, and one hell of a blizzard. Which is...not so okay.

Ah well.

Weekend tomorrow, yay!

Also I seriously need to catch up on One Piece. I keep hearing rumours of a timeskip, eeeee.

Oh, joy,

Man, I do not want to go to Red Deer. Silly north pool conductors, missing their calls.

Bleah. At least I'll have cake when I get home tomorrow!
tehluggage: (marimo is made of awesome)
Guess that soundtrack!

...Er. In important, relevant news, I'm going west on 115. After they called me an hour ago for 201, then had to call and cancel soon after because the engineer they called was actually retired.

Did I laugh? Oh yes I did. And I got paid for a call and cancel, so tonight is off to an excellent start.

Also so much SNOW, holy freakin' crap! It's wonderful!

Oh dear.

Welp, called as conductor on a switcher, just as I expected. Unfortunately, not the #1 Switcher relief as I sort of hoped, but a right-the-fuck out of nowhere Carseland relief. Normally I would be (relatively) okay with this, except...I've never worked the Carseland. Not as a trainee, not off the spareboard, nothing.

Here's hoping the engineer at least has some idea of what we're doing.
tehluggage: (Default)
That is to say, I had expected and prepared to be conductor on a lovely little 1900 switcher. (Note: That was sarcasm.)

Instead, I find myself as conductor on 115 going west, with a great engineer.

Cool!

Oh boy.

So while I don't particularly want 401, I'll take it in a red-hot second over conductor on the c71 switcher. Yeek. Here's hoping 401 does indeed pan out.

ETA: Yay 201!

I have an admission to make. I-it's not easy, and I hope it doesn't change anything, but I understand if certain people won't want to continue associating with this journal in the future.

Here goes.

I...I have Sue hair. I'm sorry.

Aaahh running late aaah wtf am I doing on here where the hell is my watch

Oy vey.

Hana, you are an awesome character and I really am glad I've spent the time writing about you, and figuring out all the little things that make you Hana Mahariel, and not just a generic Dalish Grey Warden.

But for the love of god, please please PLEASE stop bunnying me when I'm on a train and have no time/opportunity to write anything! Having a paragraph or five of angst!fic pop into my head at Bearspaw is not conducive to proper railroading, let me tell you.

Thankfully, we met a train there, so I had the time to get a page written down, and now I can work on it at my leisure. But christ, talk about inconvenient timing.
tehluggage: (anderson: OH SNAP)
No, really. I spent five minutes trying to think of a title, and all I could come up with were variations on fuck, fuckberries, holy fuckbuckets, etc. etc. ad infinitum.

...Er. Anyway. I'm sure it'll be subject to change, and odds are it's just for the week.

Eeeeeeee I'm set up on the West Cat Pool EEEEEEEEEEEEE.
tehluggage: (grumpy ninja is grumpy)
Or, y'know, not.

Thirteen and a half hours in Field, waiting for the ES crews to clear a mudslide and repair the track, not more than two miles east of Field.

Don't get me wrong, it was a pretty good trip otherwise. Took a hotshot 115 west, passed a sulphur train at Ozada and fairly flew over the Laggan. We ended up bringing 400 home, which wasn't quite as awesome, due to the fact that we were 7810 for length by the time we hit Alyth, which guaranteed a double putting it away.

And it wasn't a double, oh no. The TYC was a twit, so it ended up being a triple, and I gashed my leg on a handbrake. Joy. The worst part about that move was that she got back to us once we were tying down the third part, and let us know that there had in fact been a clear alley, one that would have easily fit the balance of the train. So Yeah. I was not impressed.

On the bright side, Fuzzy's back! ...Again! He was gone for a month this time, and I continue to be impressed at his mad survival skillz.
