Why is it that when important historical events are viewed through the lens of the internet and liberally flavoured with TVTropes, they become hilarious?

For instance, when looking at the split between the Roman Catholic church and the Orthodox church of the Byzantine Empire, it's much, much funnier to picture it as a flame war that grew out of hand on the forums and led to mutual bannination, followed by epic flouncing to separate sites, where the wankstorm continues to this day.

I think I'll be giggling about this all week.
tehluggage: (miguel's music)
...Wait, what?

At any rate, I don't know why the internet has decided that it loves rainbows, unicorns, cats, and any combination of the above, plus a whole lot of fabulosity.

But I do know that I love every second of the rainbow unicorns, the nyan cat farting rainbows and ...however you class the He-Man AMV, fabulously glorious video that it is.

Oh my god, Garrus has the biggest mancrush on Thane ever, it's hilarious.

"Oh wow, a precise headshot with no collateral damage. This guy's good!"

And then when he sees him take out Nassana, you can practically hear his little turian heart fluttering in joy. His eyes even got all big and sparkly.

Also, Insanity is getting easier! Except for the goddamned krogan, christ.

The sparkles, they're everywhere! What is this, the week of Rainbow Crack?

Also this is totally Fandom Wank's fault, so any complaints that the ponies have eaten your brain can be directed at the canibalistic hive vagina full of wolves. I'm sure they'll care. No, really.

So if the link isn't enough to break your resolve, or it just makes you wonder what's up with this entry, here. Allow me to help.

Yeah, not posting the actual video, just a link. Even I have some pride.

Long story short, My Little Pony breaks 4chan, FW boggles, wonders what all the fuss is about, I follow the links, and now I'm watching MLP: FiM episodes back to back to back. It's a sickness and I can't stop.

ETA: Okay fuck not embedding a video because oh my god dying from the lulz here and this is beautiful.

Winter wrap-up, winter wrap-up! Winter wrap-up winter wrap-up winter oh god heeeeelp...

Welp, the purpose for which the human race was created has at last been revealed.

Batman riding a rainbow robot unicorn. GLORIOUS.

It's so beautiful....

Oh Misha Collins, I would watch SPN just for you. That is effin' BRILLIANT.

TEARS OF JOY AND LAUGHTER

I want to:

Catch up on One Piece, watch Road to El Dorado again, because seriously, so very gay, start the Donna season of Doctor Who (which I'm actually well on the trail to doing, as we just finished the Martha season), write siblingverse fic even though I have absolutely no ideas for it, finish my Insanity playthrough of ME2 and write Kire-or-Francis-fic, and get one hundred percent playthrough for AC:B. Seriously, soclose.

And you know it's cold when the snow is hard, crunchy and almost squeaky underfoot. It's at times like this that I do love having a wood stove, regardless of the work it takes.

Also I have take care of Broom, Frank and Fuzzy, take both siblings to the doctor, do laundry, shop and whatnot. And it's bedtime.

So why, exactly, am I in such a good mood?

The gay helps, I think.

Things I love about Doctor Who:

The Fourth Doctor and his scarf, Sarah Jane Smith and all of her awesome badassery, Eleven and his so-very-not-cool bowtie, those fucking Weeping Angels, and Donna. And Donna's Rack. Definitely Donna's Rack.

Every few years, it seems I feel the urge to refresh my memory of the epic wanks that so characterized the early years of HP fandom.

And boy, there's nothing more epic than the Ms. Scribe saga.

On a completely unrelated note, the FW wiki is great for a few hours of laughing at the folly and foibles of idiots on the internets.

Oh Ezio.

Man, that boy (man? I suppose) really has no luck. Not only have the hookers been out to get him since Florence, now his sister and mum are running the brothel in Rome.

And I have to say, Claudia is freaking badass. She took a rundown building and turned it into the best, most popular brothel in the whole city. Oh, and all while managing to carry on with Assassin work.

Ezio's going to start falling into the rivers on his own, just to stay in practice.

I have an admission to make. I-it's not easy, and I hope it doesn't change anything, but I understand if certain people won't want to continue associating with this journal in the future.

Here goes.

I...I have Sue hair. I'm sorry.

Aaahh running late aaah wtf am I doing on here where the hell is my watch

In the best possible way, of course.

....God, Kittan's face in that last panel. *giggles madly*

Also I need a Gurren Lagann icon. Or fifteen.

I really should go boot up the xbox and play DAO, or ME2, or something. I'm pretty sure the characters I've left hanging over the past...few months, wow, are ready to revolt.

The sad thing is, about the only thing I want to play is Beautiful Katamari.

(Neon crack with chirpy happy J-pop soundtrack, WUT)

*facepalm*

You know, it's one thing to get stuck on TVT. It's another thing entirely to do it to myself, from the link on here. That is just sad.

Also known as, one of these days, I'll learn. (Hah!)

Anyway. Iron Man 2 was made of awesome and win, and boy do I ever need to go see it again. It also reinforced my vague 'shipping of Tony/Pepper from the first movie liek whoa, so of course I had to reconcile that with my Tony/Cap OTP from the comicsverse. That was easily enough done, though, thanks to Marvel and their delightfully lax attitude towards multiverses. So from this day forward, it's Tony/Cap, with a possibility of Tony/Pepper/Cap OT3, (Pepper tops, of course), for the comics, and Tony/Pepper for the movies. Which is quite satisfying and is in no way a copout. Nope. Not at all.

The Dresden Files series continues to be ridiculously awesome, which can also be interpreted as oh gods my wallet whyyyy. (Also I'd totally get a dog if I could get one like Mouse. They're smart! And can think! Unlike mine!) And I've done the same damn thing that happens to me with just about every other series/WIP these days: I found it and was hooked before it was finished. Man, I hate waiting for new books/hardcovers/new chapters to come out in paperback/updates. So impatient. It's a character flaw or something.

On the to-do list: stop with the comma and parenthesis abuse, it's not funny and it makes my writing look even more like the disjointed ramblings of a sleep-deprived fanthing. Which...okay, yeah, it's accurate. But that's not the point! (Though I'm pretty sure the ellipses - ellipsesissies? who cares - are going to revolt one of these days.)

Also, I have a new list: Authors That I Found Out Were Crazy Via Fandom Wank. This list is longer than you might think. Ms. Gabaldon, I am very disappointed. Ms. Rice, I'm...really not surprised, the batshit was showing by Queen of the Damned, and Mr. Goodkind, get over yourself already, nobody cares anymore. Though we do appreciate the Chicken of Doom, that'll be funny for years to come.

Incidentally, we are awesome, but then, that's nothing new.

Geeze. It's been two years already since I started my first, last and only thread on KFM, (about Terry Pratchett, of course,) and first ran into [livejournal.com profile] fangses. We hijacked that thread liek whoa, and...really, I don't think we've stopped since.

There was the Era of Ridiculously Long Emails, in which there was much corruption, and I found a few new fandoms, most notably the Miles Vorkosigan books. And then came the Era of Ridiculously Long AIM Conversations, which has been one long year of pretty much non-stop corruption, and in which I found a lot of new fandoms. ...Not that, y'know, I'm complaining or anything.

Anyway, this is just to say I don't regret a bit of it, no, not even the insanity. Hopefully, there is much more insanity to come. Although with [livejournal.com profile] fangses around, that's almost guaranteed.

*looks around shiftily*

Yey porn!

Sorry for the double post, but weather, I... What. Just, what.

It's snowing. Again! It's almost JUNE, fer cryin' out loud!

Well, the Heroes season finale was eighteen different kinds of awesome, and I eagerly anticipating the next season. And the DVDs of the first season.

And grad was a lot of fun. ...Actually, it was more fun than my grad was. Probably because the focus and expectations weren't on me, but on my sister, so I was able to just have fun without worrying about anything. Hell, I even went out and bought a skirt! The reactions from various people were hilarious, and consistent. "Holy crap, you're wearing a skirt! ...But it looks good, really." It amused me.

Ah, right. The brain-breakiness for those who are familiar with Sylar.
