Six years, [livejournal.com profile] fangses. Dang, that's manly.

Um. Anyway, wow! Not only did I not have anything prepared, I was off on the actual date by two days. Fail.

At any rate, there is the promise of explosions and awesomeness in four years, and we've come out of today with a Tangled/DAO crossover. Things are looking up!

Things I love about Doctor Who:

The Fourth Doctor and his scarf, Sarah Jane Smith and all of her awesome badassery, Eleven and his so-very-not-cool bowtie, those fucking Weeping Angels, and Donna. And Donna's Rack. Definitely Donna's Rack.

Cryoburn.

The new Miles book was completely awesome.

Except for the end.

"Count Vorkosigan, sir?"

*bawls*

Oh, Ezio...

I went into Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood expecting it to be awesome, full of new and interesting ways to stab guards, and plenty of Ho Yay between Ezio and Leonardo da Vinci.

It's all there.

What I wasn't expecting was for it to kind of break my heart at times.

The Cristina memories are painfully well done, and so, so ouchy to play. Ezio's so young and it's so painful to watch the emotional impact that the murder of his family really had on him.

If only because of that, AC:B is a better game than AC2.

MANLY TEARS

Which is to say, I finally watched Toy Story 3. And I admit it freely right here and now: I cried. I wept unashamedly at the sheer wonder that is that movie.

It's everything movies ought to be, and it finishes the trilogy absolutely perfectly, with all the bittersweet joy associated with growing up.

God, Pixar is amazing.

ETA: Don't you get it? You see the hat?! I AM MRS. NESBITT!! *squeaky noise*

Yay!

Eeee gonna go see Great Big Sea in two weeks!

It'll be the first concert I've ever gone to, and I can't wait. Such an awesome, fun, happy band.

ETA: This is a thing of glory, wonder and beauty. Also Kittan's RAEG face is going to haunt my nightmares, but that's okay.

Owls, man.

It's really amazing how that afternoon west pool is either flooded with available guys, or else they've all disappeared off the face of the earth.

Today, it's the latter, which is why I'm going to work...wow, four hours earlier than I'd originally though. That's okay, though, it's still a westbound. And I've got a good hoghead, so no complaints here.

In other news, Halo: Reach is utterly gorgeous and so much fun to play. Bungie didn't hold anything back with the story, and you can really tell that they loved making this game.

And I have to say, I'm really enjoying that I can finally (finally!) play a girl!Spartan. She now has pretty green and red armor, and is a bit of a badass. Actually, scratch that. She's amazingly badass. Surviving a fall from near-orbit gives you a lot of badass credibility.

The only issue I have is that Frank, while adorably cuddly, always wants to cuddle just when I'm getting swarmed by Brutes with grav-hammers. Needless to say, I died pretty damn quick, and he got the boot.

Cats, man.

So yeah, it's [livejournal.com profile] fangses's birthday! Woo! And I'm technically posting this on the 27th, but so freaking what, it's the 28th over there, and that's all that matters, right?

Hey, I actually managed to write stuff. Cool! )

This is a dangerous, dangerous site. Not nearly as bad as TVT in terms of sheer time-wastage, but infinitely worse for my poor wallet.

Also Fuzzy is back, yay! *Kermit-flail*
tehluggage: (nom nom nom)
In the best possible way, of course.

....God, Kittan's face in that last panel. *giggles madly*

Also I need a Gurren Lagann icon. Or fifteen.

I've watched it multiple times by now, both the dub and the sub, and the ending gets to me every time.

*sniff*

It is an evil evil site, much like the evil evil man. Though not, I think, capable of breaking the fourth wall in real life. ...God, I hope not.

Anyway. No real point to this entry, but I'd just like to say, once again, that TTGL continues to be the most awesome series that has ever been or ever will be. I realize that's a bold statement, but this is a show where during the climactic battle, the protagonist - who happens to be inside a mech that is roughly 3 million light years tall - is throwing galaxies at the enemy. Who also happens to be of comparable size. Throwing GALAXIES. Yeah. He also punches an enemy mech mook so hard that it rips a hole in time and space, but to be fair, he wasn't quite at full strength. And that came before the galaxy shurikens anyway.

It's also notable for being the only thing I've ever seen on youtube to not have a single idiot comment. Videos like this and this are instead filled with comments on how incredibly EPIC and AWESOME they are. Which I whole-heartedly agree with.

Spoiler-y EPICNESS.

Which is to say, Iron Man 2 is just as damn awesome the second time around. The bit with Cap's shield is still a CMOF, and oh my god the stinger we need that movie NAO PLZKTHX.

War Machine is completely badass, Mickey Rourke should not look that hot with glasses, argh, (seriously he is a scary scary looking person, and then he puts on the damn nerdglasses), and Justin Hammer is made of hilarityfail. He wants so badly to be Tony Stark, or at least cool, and he's so very, very not. His little dance entry is cringingly hilarious, and only made funnier when Tony upstages him so thoroughly not five minutes later.

Also the Black Widow is freakin' hot - and so very badass, wow - and I find it incredibly funny that she has barely any UST with Tony, and kind of ridiculous levels of it with Pepper. Hot redheads, FTW!

To summarize: Tony Stark continues to be utterly awesome, and nnngh the Avengers movie will be so very awesome.

...I use awesome way too often in my writing, but it's such a fun and descriptive word, and oftentimes, it's the only word that really conveys how I feel. Awesome.

Oh! Spring is here, apparently. The trees are all turning green, the flowers are blooming in the front flower garden, and it's supposed to be twenty-eight degrees tomorrow. This of course means we'll have three feet of snow by Friday, you just watch.

Also known as, one of these days, I'll learn. (Hah!)

Anyway. Iron Man 2 was made of awesome and win, and boy do I ever need to go see it again. It also reinforced my vague 'shipping of Tony/Pepper from the first movie liek whoa, so of course I had to reconcile that with my Tony/Cap OTP from the comicsverse. That was easily enough done, though, thanks to Marvel and their delightfully lax attitude towards multiverses. So from this day forward, it's Tony/Cap, with a possibility of Tony/Pepper/Cap OT3, (Pepper tops, of course), for the comics, and Tony/Pepper for the movies. Which is quite satisfying and is in no way a copout. Nope. Not at all.

The Dresden Files series continues to be ridiculously awesome, which can also be interpreted as oh gods my wallet whyyyy. (Also I'd totally get a dog if I could get one like Mouse. They're smart! And can think! Unlike mine!) And I've done the same damn thing that happens to me with just about every other series/WIP these days: I found it and was hooked before it was finished. Man, I hate waiting for new books/hardcovers/new chapters to come out in paperback/updates. So impatient. It's a character flaw or something.

On the to-do list: stop with the comma and parenthesis abuse, it's not funny and it makes my writing look even more like the disjointed ramblings of a sleep-deprived fanthing. Which...okay, yeah, it's accurate. But that's not the point! (Though I'm pretty sure the ellipses - ellipsesissies? who cares - are going to revolt one of these days.)

Also, I have a new list: Authors That I Found Out Were Crazy Via Fandom Wank. This list is longer than you might think. Ms. Gabaldon, I am very disappointed. Ms. Rice, I'm...really not surprised, the batshit was showing by Queen of the Damned, and Mr. Goodkind, get over yourself already, nobody cares anymore. Though we do appreciate the Chicken of Doom, that'll be funny for years to come.

Incidentally, we are awesome, but then, that's nothing new.

In other news, it's [livejournal.com profile] fangses' birthday! *waves tiny flags*

To mark this occasion, I bring cuddly kitties and mounties fighting pirates!. And yes. It is exactly as awesome as it sounds.

Anyway. It's been over four years (holy shit) since we met, and it's been awesome. Happy birthday, dude, and here's to more fandom pillaging, more eggrolls and moar win all around.

So the teaser trailer for Mass Effect 2 debuted yesterday. It's going to be another year, at least, before it's released, and Shepard is presumed KIA.

Nevertheless.

....Waaaaaaaant. I want this game with the fire of a thousand nuns.

...There's gotta be some way to fall asleep, not get into trouble at work, and wake up just in time for the release of ME2. Seriously.
